ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION

Salaries above are paid on a ten-month basis. If you work during the other two months, you will receive additional compensation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

To qualify for this position you MUST have permanent/professional New York State certification in the appropriate specialty* and two years of post-certification (provisional/initial or permanent/professional) teaching experience in the appropriate specialty. Possession of a permanent New York State certificate in the appropriate specialty is necessary for continued employment. Loss of certification will result in termination of employment.

DUTIES

Under general supervision, a Teacher 4 works with considerable independence of judgment and action when teaching elementary, secondary or special subjects. These duties include preparing course and unit outlines, lesson plans, conducting class sessions, educational progress reports, individual education plans and acting as an advisor to student groups and organizations. A Teacher 4 may also perform administrative tasks.

NOTES

To be appointed to a Spanish Language position, you must be proficient in English and must also demonstrate proficiency in the Spanish Language. Proficiency must be at a level which will allow you to perform the duties of the position properly.
