About New York State Office of Mental Health Central Administrative Office
The New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) manages, directs, coordinates, oversees and monitors the State's entire mental health system and directly operates 27 psychiatric centers across the state which provide services to both adults and children.
The Central Office is responsible:
- For providing the leadership for the State's the mental health system which serves over 500,000 individuals each year.
- For setting the State's mental health policy.
- For oversight and monitoring activities in the provision of mental health service to the citizens in more than 2,500 programs operated by local governments and nonprofit agencies of New York.
