The New York State Office of Mental Health is accepting bids for the implementation of an Electronic Medical Records system (EMR) at all OMH Facilities and Outpatient Locations. The OMH requires that the EMR be based on the open-source VistA platform developed by the U.S Veterans Administration.

The New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) announces the availability of funds to support the early identification of childhood mental illness. The awardees will be responsible for creating and maintaining a community-wide comprehensive, and efficient process by which active parental consent is obtained and children are screened for mental health problems. Multiple awards will be made to support one Full Time Equivalent (FTE) Early Recognition Specialist per awardee.

The New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) New York City Field Office announces the availability of funds for the development and operation of 90 units of Supported Housing for persons with serious mental illness being released from New York State prisons and returning to New York City. There are no limits on the number of beds an agency may request. During the initial award process, no one provider will receive more than 20 supported housing beds.

NYC Mental Health Care Monitoring Initiative Request for Proposal UpdateAs a result of anticipated changes in the New York State's Executive Budget for 2011, OMH is not able to move forward with its Request for Proposal (RFP) for the NYC Mental Health Care Monitoring Initiative at this time. The New York State Office of Mental Health has withdrawn the Request for Proposal (RFP) for the NYC Mental Health Care Monitoring Initiative, effective immediately. As a result of this action, the Mandatory Bidders Conference, scheduled for Wednesday, March 9, 2011 has been canceled. Any proposals received in response to this RFP will be returned to sender, unopened. Notification of this withdrawal will be posted in the New York State Contract Reporter, as well as on the Office of Mental Health's Website.

The NYS OMH announces the availability of funds for operating and services costs of Service-Enriched Single Room Occupancy (SRO) housing to be developed within NYC under the NY/NY III initiative. This funding will only be targeted to NY/NY III Population A homeless housing units being developed with capital funding from the NYS Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance and/or NYS Homes and Community Renewal. Funding is available for up to 935 units and must be developed within a larger mixed use housing project.
